TITLE:  The Encoreship - Social Responsibility & Sustainability Coordinator

JOB TYPE:  Part Time
LOCATION:

Cremorne, VIC, AU, 3121

ABOUT US

At DECJUBA we’re all about effortless, edgy fashion to make you look and feel #AMAZING.

Relaunched by Tania Austin in 2008, DECJUBA has become a leading retailer in Australia and New Zealand, growing our store footprint from just five stores into 140+ stores and two online sites.
We have a strong focus on innovation and are dedicated to pushing ourselves to be better than yesterday… we are our own competition!

We are passionate about our #DREAMTEAM and are committed to continuous learning and development to set our team up for success!

ABOUT THE ROLE

This opportunity forms part of The Encoreship program, a return-to-work initiative for people who identify as women and have experienced an extended period away 12+months from the workforce. To be considered for this role, applicants must meet The Encoreship program eligibility criteria.

DECJUBA are proud to be partnering with The Encoreship for a 3-month placement within our Sustainability and Compliance teams. This is a fixed-term opportunity from early October 2026 to January 2027.

Reporting to the Senior Sustainability Advisor, this role was designed to provide exposure, hands-on experience across social responsibility and environmental sustainability within a global fashion supply chain.

In addition, this placement will provide our successful Encorer with the chance to work closely with our Sustainability and Compliance teams, our Production and Merchandise teams, and our global supplier partners. They will have the opportunity to contribute to key projects focused on improving factory social compliance, supplier environmental performance and how DECJUBA manages environmental data across our own operations.

We understand each Encorer may have different flexibility/life requirements while reintegrating back into the workforce. This role will be part time, with a flexible 2 days per week and a work-from-office arrangement.

HOW WILL YOU CONTRIBUTE

  • Collaborate with the Senior Sustainability Advisor and Compliance Manager on DECJUBA’s factory audit program, reviewing audit findings, keeping our Audit Dashboard up to date and working with suppliers to track and close outstanding factory issues.
  • Work closely with our global supplier partners to support factory improvement, following up actions identified through audits and helping develop practical guidance and training where we see common issues across our supplier network.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Sustainability Advisor on our supplier environmental program through Worldly Higg FEM, helping factories complete their annual assessments and tracking how they are improving their management of energy, water, waste and other environmental impacts year on year.
  • Help us build DECJUBA’s first Environmental Management System (EMS) for our Head Office and retail stores, bringing our energy, water and waste information into one central system so we can better understand our environmental impact and where we can improve.
  • Work with teams across DECJUBA to set up a simple ongoing process for collecting and maintaining our environmental data, including what information we need, where it comes from and who is responsible for providing it.
  • Help us find smarter ways of working, exploring how technology and automation could simplify manual sustainability and compliance tasks and improve how we track and report our data.
  • Work closely with teams across Sustainability, Compliance, Merchandise, Production and Supply Chain to help bring our social responsibility and environmental commitments into the way we work with our suppliers.

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to keep projects, actions and deadlines moving.
  • Great attention to detail and an ability to identify gaps, inconsistencies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to work with both internal teams and global supplier partners.
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset.
  • An interest in sustainability, human rights, responsible sourcing or environmental management is a plus, not a must.
  • An interest in technology, systems and finding smarter ways of working.
